In Kpalime we facilitate a vocational training for a 150 teachers in primary education by donating the money to hire an extra teacher. Here teachers learn how to deal with children with speech impediments or children who are deaf or hearing impaired. About 15% of all children are deaf as a result of various diseaes.The training costs about 6000 euros and is immensely important. Teachers gain insight into the specific learning problems of these children. They learn to understand that the children are far from difficult or unwilling. In this way they get a good chance of getting their diploma. And a diploma means work and an income.
